Having goals is the most fundamental part of achieving success in any area of your life. To set goals you must think in reverse, meaning you must know what you want for a final outcome before you start working towards that outcome.

Change Your Goals

Most people have goals already even if they aren’t aware of them. Common goals in life are ‘paying my bills’, ‘going to work’, ‘picking up the kids’, ‘taking out the trash’ and many other ones your probably familiar with. These goals are there because of our past experiences. We are used to having to do these things and so they are in the forefront of our minds. Whatever we think about transforms our life to mimic our thoughts. This is where writing goals down comes in.

Why Writing Goals Really Works

Since all we are familiar with is our past experiences in life it is sometimes difficult to  set goals outside of what we are familiar with. When we write our goals down our mind not only begins thinking about those goals, but begins thinking about how to achieve those goals. Also, when we review those specific goals on a daily basis our mind has trouble thinking about anything else since those thoughts are being continually reenforced. So you must think of the things you want in life and picture yourself in that place. It has to become real in your mind to the point that you absolutely believe this is what your life will begin looking like as you head down that new path. Think of the cars, houses, relationships with new friends, traveling and any other things you want in your life. Now write them down and why you must achieve these goals and your brain will begin coming up with ideas of how to achieve them.

A Study that Proves the Power of Written Goals

A graduating class was interviewed and asked how many had written goals with a written plan on how to achieve them. About 3% of the class did have written goals. The class was brought back together 20 years later and interviewed again. Some of the things that were noticed was the fact that the 3% seemed happier more well adjusted to life and had a better outlook of the future. Those things are just unmeasurable beneficial side effects of the success they created. The one thing that was definitely measurable was that the 3% with written goals earned more money than the other 97% combined. If that isn’t reason enough to have written goals I don’t know what is. 

Why People Fail to Follow Through with Goals

The problem most people have with follow through is that they get bored. Even when goals have been written and a plan is being followed, people begin to think ‘there’s got to be something else i can do to speed this process up’. They start looking for new ways and stop doing the same simple daily steps they need to take to eventually reach their goals. They are in a get it now mentality and don’t want to stick to something if it takes time to get it. This is the biggest mistake that can be made. 

A way to avoid this is by having a powerful ‘why’. This means ‘why’ am I taking these daily steps. For example, ‘My parents are getting older and can’t work. They don’t have any savings left and I am NOT going to let them struggle in their old age. They deserve better and they are GOING to get it.’ Or, ‘My children are growing up so fast and I haven’t started saving for college yet. They DESERVE to have an education I never had so they can enjoy a successful fulfilling life and they are GOING to get it.’ By having a powerful enough why you will not forget how important these goals and daily steps are to you and continue to follow your path to success.

Everyone wants to know if there is an easy home based business. Just the fact that 97% of home based businesses fail should be a clue that no business, including a home based business, is easy. Rich Dad Poor Dad, if you didn’t already know, is one of the books written by Robert Kiyosaki. The idea of the book came from his experiences with two ‘fathers’ while growing up. If the donkey only knew what was going on he may reconsider chasing after that carrot and decide its not worth it. We need to do the same and take a step back.

Pay per click advertising, also known as ppc, is a way to post ads on search engines like google or yahoo. When you want to advertise for your product or service you have the option of going to sites like google’s Adwords or Yahoo’s Overture and placing ‘sponsored listings’ that show up on google or yahoo when someone types in a search term. You also choose a price that you are willing to pay each time someone clicks on your ad and is sent to your website.

The Idea Behind PPC

When a potential customer enters a search term, also known as ‘key words’, in google or yahoo that matches the key words you chose to trigger you ad, your advertisement appears in the ‘sponsored’ list on the right side of the screen. Think and Grow Rich Insights - A Review of Napoleon Hills Book

Think and Grow Rich is a book that has been around for a while even though you probably hear about it often if you are into self improvement, especially financially. The book was written by Napoleon Hill, at the request of Andrew Carnegie, for the purpose of finding out what the core difference is between people that create wealth and people who never quite make it. What he found was really very simple. The people that created wealth changed the way they thought and what they specifically thought about to create a wealthy mindset. Thus, the name of the book, Think and Grow Rich.

What Exactly does Think and Grow Rich Mean?

A person becomes who he is around and what he thinks about. The more you are around negative people the more negative you will think. The more you are around people that are lazy the more you will tend to think and become lazy. This process is true for any kind of mindset whether it affects you physically, emotionally, in relationships or any part of your life. Without the right mindset you can never achieve financial abundance. You must believe you can achieve financial success and then start thinking the way successful people think. I know that sounds really fluffy and thats what I thought at first too, but its true. In the course Anthony really dissects the way people think and explains in detail how to “break your pattern” of current thought and change it to a more productive successful thought pattern by asking yourself specific questions that cause you to, surprise, think!

How Can I Change My Beliefs and Do I Have To?

As stated in the above paragraph, changing your beliefs can be an in depth process since most people don’t even realize that their beliefs and thoughts are what causes the situations they are in financially or otherwise. The way we think about money can be a deep seeded belief that having a lot of money is somehow wrong or evil or that the only way to get it is to be dishonest, which prevents many from pursuing a financially abundant life. Asking questions like ‘why haven’t I created any wealth and what can I do to start creating wealth’ will cause you to ‘think’, find new answers and change the way you approach your finances and other areas of your life. The great thing about it is that if you continue to ask the questions on a regular basis your brain will automatically come up with answers in your subconscious and will literally pull your physical actions towards success.

So, can you Think and Grow Rich? Absolutely! Your though pattern, even if you don’t realize it, is directing you down whatever path you are on right now, but can be changed to direct you down any path you desire. Your daily though process is the foundation of what you build your life to look like be it good or bad. So, put only positive successful thoughts in your mind, seek out a successful person to imitate and use the quality questions they use to start directing your life down the path you want.

Passport To Wealth Business Review - An Online Marketing Business?

Passport To Wealth has probably come across your computer screen if you have done any kind of research for home based businesses or online business opportunities. And since you have come across it you are probably wondering if Passport To Wealth can actually help you produce a significant income from home or if it is just another “just like every other internet business” you find online now. Is it really a “passport to wealth” or is it a passport to nowhere?

What is Passport To Wealth

Passport To Wealth is an internet based business, started by Darren Gaudry, that can be run from home or anywhere you choose really. The whole idea of the opportunity is that you can start a business that is automated and runs even if you are at work or on vacation. That is one of the advantages it has over many network marketing businesses. The products are electronic so can be downloaded in seconds or minutes and don’t have to be shipped. You don’t even have to know they are being ordered because the customer can find your product online and download it without even contacting you. Passport To Wealth says they have $75,000 in product available for customers to download, which is awesome. The problem with it is that anyone doing any kind of research on the product can find them many other places online and for cheaper sometimes. When you are researching a business on of the most important things about the product is that they are exclusive to the company you are considering partnering with. Not all the products need to be exclusive but at least some of them do so the customer has to come back to you for the product or can refer others to you specifically. So, in doing research about Passport To Wealth I found that the ebooks and software they offer for download, while good, are not exclusive and are already over marketed by many companies out there.

Compensation Plan

The pay plan must be so good then that people can look past the over marketed products, right? Well, lets take a look. Passport To Wealth uses a common compensation plan in network marketing called the “2 up” or “pass up” program. What this means is that after spending money to partner with the company and spending time and money on advertising for your new business, your first two sales of about $2000 goes directly to your sponsor. If that isn’t discouraging enough the next thing that happens is you “break away” from your sponsor and begin earning the sales for yourself. The biggest problem with this is that your sponsor has NO financial interest in helping you succeed after the “break away”. This causes no team work with your upline and will eventually create no team work or synergy with your downline, everyone is in competition with each other. Part of long term success is continued team work, and the “2 up” compensation plan definitely does not promote this.

The Conclusion

The conclusion is that Passport To Wealth is not a scam or pyramid. They have legitimate products to move to the consumer, even if they are over marketed. They also do teach some valuable skills in online marketing and automation, but there are programs out there for the same price that have more in depth training to offer with much more synergistic compensation plans that promote team work. Experienced marketers may find success with this program but will always be stuck finding and training new partners that then break away and are stuck finding and training more new partners in a never ending cycle. For this reason I chose not to get involved with Passport To Wealth and found other companies that promote team effort and success.

Market America Unfranchise Business - Compensation Plan Review

This article will give a quick overview of Market America, but will concentrate on some of the specifics of the compensation plan. Market America calls its business opportunity the “Unfranchise”. Why? Because Market America offers the solid benefits of a franchise like training and systemized methods but doesn’t have the traditional headaches like huge overhead and start-up cost, insurance, employees and many other aspects involved with franchising. Market America is a product brokerage company that prides itself on one-to-one marketing and mass customization. The company headquarters is located Greensboro, North Carolina and was started by James Ridinger formerly a rep for Amway.

The Products

As mentioned before Market America is a product brokerage company which means they don’t actually produce any products but instead survey customers, find out what they want and then find a manufacture to produce the desired product. This allows Market America to carry only products that are selling well for their reps and can drop poorly performing products, keeping the company much less vulnerable to market swings. The manufacturer then researches and produces the product while Market America concentrates on bringing the product to the consumer through its network of independent distributors also known as an “Unfranchise Owners”. There are currently hundreds of products in the “mall without walls” from unique nutrition products, skin care and make-up, weight-loss products, an anti-aging hormonal line and many more. On top of their exclusive product lines they also have thousands of affiliate partners that allow the “Unfranchise Owners” preferred  customers to shop and buy online through a web portal. The Business Structure and Payout 

Market America has what they call a binomial compensation plan. Here are some of the specifics of the pay plan. Each rep or “Unfranchise Owner” retails product to preferred customers and recruits other reps to do the same. The benefit of this is of course leveraged time and financial gain. An Unfranchise Owner begins by purchasing 200BV of product to “qualify” their business center and remains on a 50BV-150BV “transfer buy” per month. This is product the rep can purchase for personal use or to sell to customers. BV is a point value assigned to each product that is used to determine when commission checks will be earned.(Average BV is 80% per dollar of the product, so $100 would be 80 BV). After that the rep must recruit two people and place on on the left side and one on the right side. This “activates” the business center and the “Unfranchise Owner” can begin receiving commission checks. Your next goal is executive manager which requires personal sales of $1000 in products and a team of 11-14 reps who sell $2500 in products. Your commission is now 5% for level one, 4% for level 2 and now you begin receiving a 3% commission for your level 3 reps. The top position you reach is referred to as executive director. At this point you must have sold $1500 in products and have a team of reps that have sold $5000 worth of products. Your commission raises to 5% for levels 1, 2 and 3 of your team.
